Prostitution law and regulations for escorts and sex workers in Geneva

According to the Prostitution Act (LProst) of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, any person engaging in prostitution must be of legal age (over 18 years old).
To comply with the law of the Canton of Geneva, any person working in the sex industry in Geneva, whether as an escort or as the operator of a massage parlour or escort agency, must appear in person before the competent authority for registration.
Escorts must register and make an appointment with the Prostitution Group of the Human Trafficking and Illegal Prostitution Brigade (BTPI) in order to be officially registered.
Any subsequent change in circumstances within the field of sex work must be reported as soon as possible to the vice squad, which can be contacted at the following address:

The competent authorities may at any time, within the scope of their respective duties and if necessary by use of enforcement measures, carry out unannounced inspections of identity documents, all documents of escort agencies, all premises of massage parlours, and the identity of persons present on site.
